2008 Bell Tower Festival
The 2008 annual Bell Tower Festival will soon be upon us with the theme “The Tower of Power”. This year’s steering committee members Jill Von Stein, Steve Ogren, Shannon Black, Tom Duncan and Don Van Gilder, led by chamber director Amy Milligan and assistant Angie Chapman, have been busy organizing and planning all of this years events. Many of our favorite activities will be returning and plenty of new attractions have been added. All of Greene County can look forward to the Bistro with the Bob Pace Band headlining Friday night and The Push on Saturday night. Of course, there will be exciting entertainment on the Plaza Stage and several places to grab a bite to eat. Last year’s popular wine tasting event will return. Its location will be the beatiful lawns of De and Russ Johnson and Donna Nelson’s Limburg House Bed and Breakfast on historic Lincolnway. Toddlers, teens and adults will enjoy Gee Willie Inflatables, a mechanical bull, Dance Dance Revolution, Wee Games, and an obstacle course. Athletes can start preparing for the 5K or 1 mile fun run, the 3 on 3 basketball tournament, or a Rough Touch Football competition. Dog owners can show off their best friend in the BTF parade. Again on the agenda this year is the Battle of the Bands contest Saturday evening. And Back by popular demand is the Bell Tower Festival Car Show. The entire committee is excited for a great festival. A spokesperson stated, “the Bell Tower Festival is a wonderful way to exhibit Greene County, and this year’s event is no exception.
